Herrestaskolan opened its doors in January 2016 and today offers a modern and inspiring learning environment for about 400 students in grades F–6. Since the autumn term of 2023, an adapted primary school has also been included in the operations. The school is located in the heart of Barkarbystaden – beautifully surrounded by green areas and close to good transportation links.

The building is environmentally certified and constructed of solid wood – a sustainable and well-planned place where students' well-being, learning, and future are the focus. We take pride in our school environment, which includes a full-sized gymnasium, a dedicated kitchen, and a well-equipped schoolyard.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now looking for an engaged woodwork teacher for teaching grades 3-6 for a temporary position!

Do you want to help develop students' creativity, joy of creation, and practical skills while becoming part of a knowledgeable and supportive team? We are looking for someone who, with confidence, structure, and inspiration, wants to take responsibility for teaching wood and metal crafts.

In the role of teacher, you will plan, implement, and evaluate the craft education based on applicable governing documents, both independently and together with colleagues. You will guide students in their creative processes, from idea to finished product, and actively work with safety, material knowledge, and tool handling.

You will follow up on students' knowledge development and create a safe, creative, and inclusive learning environment where every student is given the opportunity to develop based on their conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a teaching degree focused on crafts. You have a genuine interest in practical learning and in inspiring students to develop their creativity and self-confidence.

You are a confident and clear leader in the classroom and in the craft room, with a good ability to create structure and a conducive working environment. You have a safety-conscious approach and are used to organizing teaching in practical activities.

As a person, you are collaborative, flexible, and proactive. You value collegial cooperation and actively contribute to the development of the team. You work inclusively, build relationships, and always prioritize the best interests of the student.

You collaborate in a professional and respectful manner with guardians, colleagues, and other professionals and are loyal to joint decisions and guidelines.
