Craft Teacher Wanted at Lindeskolan

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Welcome to Us

Hello! Are you our new craft teacher? My name is Mimmi de Val, and I am the assistant principal at Lindeskolan and will be your immediate supervisor.

I look forward to continuing to develop craft education at the school together with you.

Do you want to join us on an exciting journey where you can influence how a new school is shaped and developed?

Lindeskolan is a newly established school since the autumn term of 2020 when we started with preschool classes. The school, located in Enskede gård, is growing from the ground up, and this academic year we have about 320 students from preschool to grade 5. In the 26/27 school year, we will expand by one more grade. We have about 50 staff members.

As a newly started school, we have the privilege of building a school from scratch. Our starting point is to create a family-like atmosphere where we collectively take responsibility for a good and pleasant school environment where knowledge and joyful learning are important building blocks. We have a relational and norm-conscious approach. It is important to us that our students feel safe and happy when they are in our care. All staff members work closely together. Flexibility, lack of pretension, and joy are some attributes that characterize our staff group.

We Offer

  • An exciting opportunity to help shape craft education in a growing school.
  • A close and inspiring collaboration with educators, school management, and other staff.
  • Wellness benefits.
  • Secure employment with a collective agreement and good employee benefits offered by the City of Stockholm.

Lindeskolan is a well-functioning school where we value good relationships between staff, students, and guardians. As an employee at Lindeskolan, you will have the opportunity to influence the development of the organization and operations.

We actively work to create an accessible learning environment with the well-being of the student in focus, so that all students are given the best possible conditions to reach their full potential. Our teaching is characterized by structure, clarity, and predictability.

At Lindeskolan, we have flexible teaching groups where the grade teams collaborate closely around the students. We apply double mentorship, meaning that each student has a teaching mentor and an after-school care mentor. We have a holistic view of teaching, learning, and care. We want to be the school where safety and learning go hand in hand!

Your Role

We are primarily looking for a craft teacher who wants to teach in both craft subjects but also welcome applicants with interest and qualifications in one of the craft subjects. You are engaged, driven, and want to make a difference for our students. You have a clear student focus and work to put the needs of the students at the center.

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our team and contribute to providing students with a safe and positive school experience. Your view of children is characterized by respect and a belief that all children can and want to develop. You have high expectations for the students, and it is important for you to motivate them and work to ensure they thrive in school.

Our staff team at the school currently consists of teachers for after-school care, teachers for grades F-3 and 4-6, childcare workers, and preschool teachers distributed across the grade teams for preschool, grade 1, grade 2, grade 3, grade 4, and grade 5. The staff works closely together and collaborates on teaching, break activities, and care.

As a craft teacher, you will be responsible for planning, teaching, documentation, assessment, and evaluation of the classes you teach. You will teach grades 3-6 and belong to the grade team 4-6. You will be responsible for craft education at the school but will of course collaborate with other educators around the student groups. You value and create good conditions for collaboration and establish good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Your Competence and Experience

You should:

  • have a teaching license with qualifications to teach craft in grades 3-6.
  • be well-versed in the school's governing documents and mission.
  • be responsible and have excellent collaboration skills.
  • be flexible, initiative-taking, and empathetic.
  • enjoy sharing your experiences and knowledge while being open to new working methods.

It is an advantage if you have several years of experience working as a craft teacher.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Welcome with your application. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus combating discrimination.
