University Lecturers in Statistics Wanted

The Department of Statistics belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences and has about 35 employees, of which about 25 are teachers and/or researchers, 6 doctoral students, and others in administration.

We are now looking for one or more university lecturers in statistics with varying scope for employment during the autumn semester of 2026. More information about us can be found at: Department of Statistics (https://www.su.se/statistiska-institutionen/).

Job Responsibilities

The work involves conducting teaching within the statistical field. The teaching covered by the position includes courses at the undergraduate and/or advanced level. Typical tasks include lectures and, where applicable, exercises and computer labs.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible for employment as a university lecturer is one who has demonstrated pedagogical skill and has obtained a doctoral degree in statistics or has equivalent scientific competence. To be assessed as eligible, the applicant must have documented experience from working with education in statistics at colleges and universities.

All teaching positions at Stockholm University require that the applicant has the ability to collaborate and is otherwise suitable to fulfill the job responsibilities.

Assessment Criteria

In the selection of eligible applicants, emphasis is placed on pedagogical skill and experience in teaching statistics at colleges and/or universities. Good collaborative skills and a positive attitude towards students and colleagues are highly valued. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Meritorious is higher education pedagogical training of at least 15 higher education credits or equivalent knowledge acquired in other ways.

About the Position

The position is for full or part-time and is limited to a maximum of twelve months. Start date and scope according to agreement.
