Lecturers in Statistics at the Department of Statistics

The Department of Statistics belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences and has about 35 employees, of which about 25 are teachers and/or researchers, 6 doctoral students, and others in administration.

We are now looking for one or more lecturers in statistics with varying scope for employment during the autumn semester of 2026. More information about us can be found at: http://www.statistics.su.se (http://www.statistics.su.se).

Job Description

The work involves conducting teaching within the statistical field. The teaching covered by the positions primarily includes courses at the undergraduate level. Typical tasks include exercises, computer labs, and, if applicable, lectures. Assessments of submitted assignments are also part of the job responsibilities.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible for employment is someone who has completed a degree in statistical higher education at least at the undergraduate level or has equivalent competence.

All teaching positions at Stockholm University require that the applicant has the ability to collaborate and is otherwise suitable to fulfill the job responsibilities.

Assessment Criteria

In the selection of eligible candidates, emphasis is placed on pedagogical skill and experience in teaching statistics at the college and/or university level. Importance is also attached to the extent and results of higher education studies in statistics that the applicant possesses.

Good collaborative skills and a positive attitude towards students and colleagues are highly valued. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

About the Employment

The positions are for full or part-time and are limited to a maximum of six months. Start date and scope according to agreement. The position of lecturer at Stockholm University does not entail promotion opportunities to higher scientific positions.
