Project Manager in Method, Statistics, and Analysis
The Swedish Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Assessment of Social Services (SBU) is a knowledge authority under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs tasked with conducting scientific evaluations of methods within healthcare, including dental care. SBU is also responsible for scientific evaluations of interventions within social services and interventions supported by the LSS (Act on Support and Service). The agency has over 100 employees.
Unit Description
The Unit for Method Support and Scientific Knowledge Gaps is part of the Department for Scientific Method Support. The unit currently has nine employees and is central to the agency's work on methods for compiling research. We are in a phase where we are developing our working methods, which provides opportunities to influence the direction. We collaborate with other parts of the agency, provide support on statistical and methodological issues, and lead the work to identify and inform about methods in healthcare and social services where sufficient knowledge about their effects is lacking.
About the Role
As a project manager, you will independently drive development projects within method, statistics, and analysis. You will participate in the agency's strategic and operational methodological work. You have the ability to lead, prioritize, and implement several parallel projects. The work may also include reviewing scientific literature, drafting and compiling manuscripts, and assisting in communicating results.
The work may also involve collaboration with other authorities nationally and internationally, consultation responses, and teaching. An important part of the role is to use your expertise to solve challenges related to statistics and quantitative methods across the agency's assignments. You collaborate with other method specialists to provide methodological support and participate in the agency's ongoing project activities.
We primarily work with quantitative research and strive to compile results using various types of meta-analyses, but we also compile qualitative research when required by the assignment.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Driving method projects and contributing to the development of the agency's work
- Collaborating with colleagues in assessments of statistical methods
- Providing support and guidance to colleagues on how to handle statistical questions
- Monitoring changes in the field internationally and nationally
Qualifications
- PhD in a research area relevant to SBU. This may include epidemiology, psychology, medicine, social work, economics, biomedical statistics, or behavioral science
- Excellent knowledge of statistics and quantitative analysis methods
- Documented experience in project management with a strong ability to plan, lead, and execute projects
- Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Desirable Qualifications
- Documented experience in training others in statistics, data analysis, or quantitative methods
- Documented experience in working with systematic reviews
- Documented experience in clinical epidemiology
- Documented experience in impact evaluations
- Documented competence in HTA
- Experience in collaboration between academic research and the healthcare sector or social services
- Knowledge of ethics related to medicine and health
Personal Attributes
For the role, you need to be able to collaborate easily and build trust both internally and externally. You have good pedagogical and communicative skills, both in speech and writing. You need to be flexible and meticulous and able to work independently. Good judgment and high personal integrity are required for the assignment. Personal attributes will be given significant weight.
We Offer
At SBU, you will have the opportunity to make a difference for society and welfare. Here, you will have the chance to engage with research and work alongside competent and dedicated colleagues in a pleasant work environment. We are located in bright offices in central Stockholm with the possibility of remote work up to two days a week, if the operations allow, a generous wellness allowance, and 1.5 hours of wellness during working hours each week.
Scope and Start Date
This is a permanent full-time position (100%). SBU applies a 6-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
Application
We look forward to receiving your application by April 12, 2026. Applications are only accepted via the agency's recruitment tool, which you can find on our website under job openings.
