Administrator for the International Cooperation Section
The Headquarters, International Cooperation Section at the Defence Staff's Strategy Unit is part of the Chief of Defence (ÖB) and the Director General's (GD) staff. The section is responsible for the Armed Forces' international relations and collaborations with other nations and international organizations. The section handles matters at the military strategic level in close cooperation with other managements and staffs within the Headquarters and Defence Staff, with foreign defence attachés in Sweden and Swedish defence attachés abroad, as well as with the Government Offices and other authorities primarily in the defense area. The section is looking for civilian administrators who will mainly work on issues related to the Armed Forces' prioritized partner countries and defense collaborations.
Main Responsibilities
- Direct and coordinate bi- and multilateral defense collaborations with other relevant staffs and managements with the following overall scope;
- Be responsible for the preparation and presentation of materials for ÖB and other senior leaders' trips, meetings, and visits
- Lead the preparation of matters with an international focus within the Headquarters for decisions by the Armed Forces' senior leaders or further preparation at the Government Offices (Ministry of Defence)
- Support the Government Offices (Ministry of Defence) with materials related to international collaborations (e.g., agreements, meetings, trips, and visits, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Academic degree with a focus on crisis management and security or security policy; international relations; military science; peace and conflict studies or other relevant education that the Armed Forces assesses as equivalent
- Work experience from strategic and/or operational level, with international connections
- Very good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is driven and has the ability to handle several complex matters often under time pressure. You are expected to deliver and shift focus quickly, which requires your flexibility. You are proactive and self-sufficient in your work. You find it easy to collaborate with others as coordination and contact with other parts of the Armed Forces, Government Offices, and other international organizations are included in the tasks. You are an experienced writer and have experience in delivering stringent oral presentations tailored for different audiences. In the selection process, great importance will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.
DESIRABLE
- Experience from previous positions within the Armed Forces
- Experience in bi- and multilateral defense cooperation at the strategic level in close collaboration with the Government Offices, particularly the Ministry of Defence
- Experience of international service
- Experience of military service, including basic military training
- Language skills in a third language that enhance the ability to solve tasks within the Armed Forces' international relations, focusing on the Armed Forces' prioritized collaborations
Other
Individual salary setting applies.
Employment type: Permanent employment. The Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.
Employment rate: Full-time.
Work location: Stockholm.
Start date: As soon as possible according to agreement.
