Vetenskapens Hus is operated by KTH and Stockholm University and serves as a meeting place for schools, universities, and industry. The purpose of Vetenskapens Hus is to:
- strengthen children's and youth's knowledge and interest in science, technology, and mathematics,
- create understanding that science, technology, and mathematics are necessary for the transition to a sustainable society,
- increase and broaden the recruitment base to universities and industry.

Job Responsibilities
As a pedagogical developer, you primarily work within our chemistry activities aimed at middle and high school students.
Main responsibilities include:
- teaching in a laboratory environment
- developing pedagogical and inspiring experiments and activities.
Additionally, it includes maintaining materials and equipment to create an inspiring and safe environment, guiding part-time student staff in their role as guides, liaising with teachers, and developing and conducting teacher training. The distribution of content may vary over time depending on the needs of the operation.
The position may also include:
- leading and participating in projects and external collaborations, such as events aimed at students and the public,
- promoting activities to increase and broaden participation within our target groups,
- administering tasks such as booking student and teacher activities, operational follow-ups, etc.,
- contributing to teaching and development in other STEM subjects (biology, physics, mathematics, technology).
Qualifications
Requirements
- Completed degree at the undergraduate or graduate level (teacher education) in chemistry or equivalent competence.
- Experience in pedagogical work within the Swedish school system and/or educational activities outside of school, such as museums, resource centers, or interest organizations.
- Very good ability to express oneself in Swedish in both speech and writing, as this is required in daily work.
Personal Qualities
- In this role, you thrive as someone who enjoys collaborating but also finds it easy to work independently and drive tasks to completion.
- You are creative and proactive, enjoy thinking outside the box, and translating ideas into practice.
- We prefer that you are service-oriented and quality-conscious with a focus on the visitor's experience, and that you maintain calm and direction even in intense situations.
- You have deep knowledge and a broad interest in chemistry and enjoy working hands-on.
- You are curious about pedagogical development and like to keep up with new research in relevant subjects.
- You are well aware of diversity and equal treatment issues, with a particular focus on gender equality.
Meritorious
- Subject teacher education in chemistry for grades 7-9.
- Subject teacher education or equivalent in other scientific subject areas; biology, physics, technology, or mathematics.
- Experience in teaching chemistry in primary school (grades 4-9).
- Experience in chemical safety and laboratory management.
- Experience working with and expressing oneself in both speech and writing to different target groups.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience in management and system ownership of booking systems for customer or resource booking and websites.
