Your responsibilities
The Department of Education and Children in Västerås is the joint administration of the three educational committees. The department has a broad focus area that spans from preschool to adult education. You will belong to the committee and authority unit where the work between operations and politics is coordinated. The unit is also responsible for coordinating the handling of the committees' public documents and record-keeping. The unit consists of registrars, committee secretaries, case officers, strategists, and a unit manager. In the role of registrar, you will work with mail handling, requests for public documents, and record-keeping of public documents in our case and documentation system Ciceron. You will also respond to inquiries and manage documents that come to the department's authority mailbox and provide supportive and quality-assuring assistance to our operations regarding record-keeping.
You will have close collaboration with your colleagues in the unit and the department.
Your qualifications
For this position, you need to have completed upper secondary education. If you have further education in areas such as social sciences, political science, or public administration, it is an advantage. It is beneficial if you have basic legal knowledge and are comfortable with the Freedom of the Press Act and public and confidentiality legislation. Experience working in an administrative role, preferably in a similar position, is advantageous. The role also requires you to be accustomed to using digital system support; therefore, it is beneficial if you have worked in central case management systems, such as Ciceron.
You work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and drive your processes forward in a structured manner. Furthermore, you plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively while adhering to set deadlines. You have good collaboration skills, are attentive in meetings with others, and contribute to constructive dialogue. At the same time, you are service-oriented, observant, and engaged in helping others and finding solutions.

Additional information
Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police criminal record.
The position is a fixed-term employment with a start date around April 15, 2026, and ongoing until at least December 31, 2026.
During the interview, you will need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a personal certificate along with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
