About our open position

As a communicator focusing on press and media, you will work both strategically and operationally to strengthen SÄS's external and internal communication.

You will be part of the communication team and drive, develop, and be responsible for the hospital's media work. The role includes strengthening the VGR brand and contributing to SÄS being perceived as an attractive employer and community actor with high legitimacy and credibility.

You will produce content for our internal and external channels – text, photos, videos, presentations, and moving material – and work with news, press releases, and storytelling in various formats. You will also be an important support to managers and hospital leadership.

The position is located in the Management and Communication unit, and you will report to the communications manager.

You will participate in the region's operational crisis communication group as needed. Press duty is included according to a rotating schedule.

Main responsibilities:

• Drive and develop SÄS press and media work, including staffing the press service
• Write and produce press releases, news, and articles for internal and external channels
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and provide support to managers on media issues
• Create content in the form of text, photos, videos, and moving material tailored to the channel and target audience
• Support in the development of visual materials for example in presentations
• Project lead and implement communication projects on behalf of the communications manager
• Identify and analyze target groups and plan and implement communication efforts
• Participate in the development of the hospital's channels and communication concepts
• Engage in SÄS crisis communication as needed

The communication unit's mission includes brand, employer brand, strategic communication, internal and external channels, media issues, content production, graphic production, and project communication.

Management and communication is part of the staff area where we collaborate with finance, HR, education, operational unit, archives and administration, medical quality and patient safety, research and innovation, staffing service, and clinical introduction.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree in communication or equivalent. You have experience in press and media work and are a skilled communicator who masters the craft in several formats. Experience in crisis communication, internal communication, and working in a politically governed organization is an advantage.

As a person, you are confident, proactive, and have the ability to prioritize and drive your work independently. You build trust and relationships with ease, both internally and externally. You are structured, analytical, and thrive in a role where you need to act with integrity, judgment, and courage – especially in complex communication situations.

You enjoy working in change, developing working methods, and testing new expressions and formats.
