The Administration Department provides support and service to the agency to ensure effective management, common working methods, and quality assurance of the agency's activities. The Administrative Department is responsible for operations and processes within law, finance, archives, and service and is divided into three units.

The Finance Unit provides support in financial management and financial policy issues and is responsible for the development and adaptation of financial systems. The unit is responsible for accounting, financial follow-up, budget preparation, and year-end closing. The unit currently consists of 10 employees.

Job Responsibilities

You will work with ongoing financial management in our purchasing system and reconciliations and accounting of the agency's grants and auditing of project funds within EU-funded projects.

Your work will include collaborating with other economists on budgeting and year-end closing. You will support the agency's managers and employees regarding financial issues and actively participate in the development of the finance unit's processes and routines.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with at least a bachelor's degree in public management, business administration, or a related field. We believe you are a recent graduate or have just started your career, with a little over a year of experience in financial work. You want the opportunity to learn the financial craft within the state from the ground up and apply your theoretical knowledge in practice. You are curious, meticulous, and unpretentious and understand that teamwork is essential for a good whole.

You also need to have:

  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Documented basic understanding of accounting, invoice management, VAT, and ongoing accounting.
  • Documented basic understanding of ongoing accounting, debit/credit.
  • Documented knowledge of accounting principles, VAT, and taxes.
  • Completed internships, summer jobs, or part-time jobs in finance, accounting, administration, or accounts receivable, or participated in student projects or case competitions in finance.

You are responsible and eager to learn new things to gradually develop. We expect you to have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both spoken and written forms. Personal qualities will be highly valued.

Conditions

The position is a temporary assignment as an Economist. The Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management applies individual salary setting. The salary range for the position is between 33,000 and 38,000 SEK/month and is based on skills relevant to the position.

The starting point is that the work is normally performed at the agency's premises; however, employees may, by agreement with the unit manager, work up to two days of a full-time position, or alternatively, work equivalent to two days per week remotely.
