We are looking for an experienced and business-driven sustainability consultant who wants to help develop IVL's services, create new collaborations, and drive sales – while working on qualified client projects. You are used to working closely with clients, see market needs, and can translate these into sought-after offers and business opportunities. You thrive in the consulting role and want to take a key role in strengthening and growing IVL's offering in sustainability strategy and governance. Within IVL's service area of Strategy and Governance, a team of about ten consultants work on assignments for both private and public clients. Our expertise covers the entire sustainability area, with a particular focus on climate, biodiversity, and resource consumption.

We primarily support central sustainability functions with risk and materiality analyses and developing strategies, goals, governance, and follow-up of sustainability work. The assignments often start from established standards, legal requirements, and international frameworks. The group also conducts grant-based research in sustainable development.

At IVL, business acumen and scientific grounding coexist. This shapes both how we develop and price our services and how we build trust in client dialogues. In this role, you will be an important part of the group's continued development. With your network, market understanding, and ability to drive business, you will strengthen the team and contribute to further accelerating service development and sales.

You will:

• Identify new customer segments and collaborations at the intersection of the commercial and scientific

• Drive sales towards both existing and new customers

• Further develop and package the group's services based on market needs

• Work as a consultant on projects within sustainability management, strategy, and governance

The Strategy and Governance group is part of IVL's Sustainable Society unit, which consists of over a hundred employees located in Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö. The groups at IVL work closely together.

Your tasks include:

• Identifying customer needs and developing services and offers based on market demand

• Leading and actively driving sales efforts, both towards existing and new customers

• Building and developing collaborations, customer relationships, and project portfolios

• Working as a consultant on assignments within sustainability management, strategy, and governance based on your areas of expertise

• Collaborating with colleagues at IVL to create comprehensive deliveries and strengthen our offering

Your background

To succeed in this role, you have:

• A university degree at least at the bachelor's level in a relevant field (environment, engineering, economics, law, social sciences, or equivalent)

• Relevant and documented work experience, including several years as a consultant

• Documented experience in business development and sales - driving customer dialogue, translating market needs into concrete services, and driving business with positive results

• A broad network in the sustainability field, preferably with established customer relationships

• Broad knowledge in sustainability and solid knowledge in at least one subject area in the group's existing service portfolio

It is an advantage but not a requirement if you can also demonstrate a good understanding of and ability to use digital and AI-based tools for efficiency, method development, and customer benefit.
