Special Teacher/Special Educator at Björkö School and Ekenässjön School

Do you want to make a real difference for students who need extra support to succeed in school? For the autumn term, we are looking for a special teacher or special educator for Björkö School and Ekenässjön School.

You will work at two F–6 schools just north of Vetlanda. Björkö School has about 95 students and Ekenässjön School has about 140 students. Together, the staff takes joint responsibility for the students' development, focusing on their strengths and creating a safe school day where students thrive and develop.

In this role, you will collaborate with educators, student health, and assistants. You will contribute to discussions, assessments, and pedagogical investigations and work on compiling, evaluating, and analyzing results that lead to interventions at various levels in the organization. The students you meet primarily need special support in their language, reading, writing, and mathematics development, and you will be an important part of finding methods and adjustments that help them progress.

Your tasks include:

  • providing teaching and support at individual and group levels
  • following up, analyzing, and providing feedback on interventions and results
  • designing action plans
  • being a conversation partner for staff, school management, and guardians

You will also help develop the learning environment and support educators in finding adjustments and support so that students can receive their education within the classroom as much as possible. Contact and collaboration with guardians is a natural part of the work, as is contributing to engagement and participation among students.

We are looking for someone who enjoys collaboration and approaches challenges constructively. You have an easy time building good relationships and can understand others' perspectives. You take initiative, are attentive, and communicate clearly, and you have the ability to adapt when circumstances change.

The position is 100 percent. The distribution between the schools will be determined in dialogue, based on your competencies, your wishes, and the needs of the organization.

We want you, as our employee, to feel good both at work and outside of it. Therefore, you have access to wellness grants, free swimming, and discounts on massages. Read more about our benefits. (https://vetlanda.se/formaner (https://vetlanda.se/formaner))
