Hillerstorpsskolan is a F-9 school with approximately 200 students in grades F-6 and about 100 students in grades 7-9. Teachers are divided into work teams. Ongoing collaboration exists between the different staff categories. Staff meet regularly for joint conferences for F-9. Thanks to the proximity to each other and shared staff rooms, there are good opportunities for conversations and contacts across the old grade boundaries, as well as short decision-making paths and closeness between employees and management. An important resource for the operation is the student health team, consisting of a counselor, principal, school nurse, special educator, and study and career counselor.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a leisure teacher with us, you will play a central role in creating a meaningful, developing, and safe environment for our students both during and after school hours. You will teach in the leisure center and have a specific area of responsibility during the school day based on your competence and interests.

Our leisure center has been divided into two work teams since January 2025: Björnen, for younger students, and Vargen, for grade 2 and above. Here, we work closely together to provide students with a stimulating and educational leisure time, where play and learning go hand in hand.

As a leisure teacher, you will collaborate with the school during the school day through various areas of responsibility, such as:

• FRIS (leisure in school) where you work to integrate leisure pedagogical methods into teaching.
• Break activities where you create an active and safe break environment with organized games and movement activities.
• Some subject teaching for grades F-3 depending on your competence where you support or lead lessons for younger students.
• Resource support where you work closely with students and teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.

Your work will also include collaboration between the different departments, and an important part is the daily contact with students, guardians, colleagues, and the student health team. Administration, planning, and follow-up are natural elements of the position to ensure high quality in the operation.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree and teaching certification with the authority to teach in the leisure center. Previous experience in pedagogical work or working with children and youth is an advantage.

As a teacher, you are secure, engaged, and passionate about children's development and rights. You have a positive and solution-focused attitude and a low-arousal approach where you combine clarity with responsiveness. You create a safe and stimulating environment where students feel seen and involved, and you have the ability to balance freedom and responsibility by setting clear yet respectful boundaries.

You see the pedagogical mission of the leisure center as an important part of the school's entirety and are driven to create a meaningful and developing learning environment for students. With your creativity and commitment, you plan activities that inspire and challenge students while adapting teaching based on their needs and interests. We are looking for a colleague with strong social skills and good collaboration abilities. You easily build and maintain good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues and communicate clearly and professionally in all contexts. You have a flexible and solution-focused mindset and thrive in a role where you can help develop the operation.

Experience in value-based work, student influence, and various pedagogical tools and methods is advantageous, as well as the ability to adapt teaching to students' needs and create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to grow and develop.
