Do you want to be part of developing and being a part of a support team? Do you want to help shape a team that includes a special educator, a special teacher in Swedish, a counselor, a school nurse, a school speech therapist, and a school psychologist? Do you want to work with a promoting student health effort in an intercultural school with wonderful and sometimes challenging students? Then you should apply for this job.

We are looking for someone who has knowledge and qualifications as a special education teacher in the subject of mathematics. You should be well-versed in the latest research on mathematics learning and its success factors. You are self-driven and motivated by a genuine interest in student learning.

You build your special education teaching by creating relationships with each student, also to harness the student's curiosity and drive. You are also well-planned, structured, and place great importance on implementing structures to achieve successful learning environments for the students you teach. You build your teaching on trusting relationships with the students but also find it easy to create relationships and collaborate with colleagues.

Of course, you will be able to work 100%, but then as a class teacher and/or subject teacher.

Who are we?

At Horda School and Rydaholm School, we offer you a stimulating job in an intercultural environment with engaged and competent colleagues. During the school year, we continue the professional development for staff regarding differentiated and explicit teaching. The lead teacher group, consisting of four lead teachers, drives the collegial learning at the schools. Through quality work, we strive to increase students' reading comprehension, develop students' safety and study peace, and mathematics.

Horda School has about 90 students and Rydaholm School has about 180 students. Both schools are primary schools with students from preschool class up to grade 6. You will be placed at Rydaholm School but will regularly work at Horda School, which is located 8 kilometers north of Rydaholm.

Job Responsibilities

A position as a special education teacher involves self-directed work alongside other competencies in the support team, but primarily teaching individual students or small groups of students.

You keep up with the latest school research and drive and spread knowledge and are active in the collegial conversation to challenge and support colleagues. Additionally, you are responsible for participating in parent contacts and collaborating with other teachers at the school. You may also participate in municipal subject networks and professional development.

The principal plans together with the special education teacher the conditions and work in the annual assignment dialogue.

Qualifications

You should be able to document well-regarded work with student health and special education within the framework of one or more employment within the school system.

Teaching certification for the applicable stage, as well as special education teacher certification, and grades that demonstrate qualifications and competence are required. You should have good insights into the school's mission and governing documents, and well-regarded leadership qualities. We place high demands on knowledge of extra adjustments, special support, and careful documentation.

Furthermore, you as an applicant should have very good IT skills and be accustomed to using digital tools in daily work.

Personal suitability is crucial for the appointment of the position.
