Your New Job

In Jönköping Municipality, a unique initiative for language development is underway in our preschools and primary schools. Working as a language pedagogue at one of the 15 primary schools that have received language pedagogue positions is part of this initiative.

As a language pedagogue, you will collaboratively work to develop teaching in preschool class, grade 1, and after-school care based on the school's needs and students' results. You will start from a centrally developed task description and work with the principal to create your school-specific assignment. Your work includes leading and supporting collegial development processes based on research and proven experience to help increase the school's competence in language, reading, and writing development. You will also support students in preschool class and grade 1 at the group level in their language, reading, and writing development and make interventions together with the work team. Based on a language plan developed in the municipality, you ensure that the teaching in preschool class and grade 1 rests on scientific grounds and proven experience.

We are now looking for a language pedagogue for Råslättsskolan.

Råslättsskolan is one of the municipality's larger F–6 schools located in the Råslätt district in the southern parts of Jönköping. The school is multicultural and currently has about 480 students and approximately 80 staff members. We have a high qualification rate and good teacher density, and together we work to create a workplace where everyone thrives and develops. Here, you will work alongside dedicated and competent colleagues who focus on students' learning and development. The school is led by a principal and two assistant principals.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone who is a certified teacher with a focus on younger ages and has several years of experience in teaching reading and writing development in the lower grades. Ideally, you have experience in teaching Swedish as a second language.

We expect you to have good experience in language-developing work, documented experience in driving development work in schools, and experience in quality work. You have experience in improving students' academic results and a strong interest in developing teaching. You possess good analytical skills and have the courage to act to contribute to change. As a person, you find it easy to build trusting relationships.

Good to Know

The position of language pedagogue is a permanent employment with vacation service and flexible hours within the education administration in Jönköping Municipality. The immediate supervisor is the principal. All language pedagogues are part of a network that has continuous collegial meetings.
