Job Responsibilities

Do you want a meaningful job where you make a difference for people with disabilities? Escorting aims to support individuals who, due to disabilities or old age, risk social isolation and have difficulties socializing with friends or participating in community activities.

Escort services provide opportunities to engage in activities outside the home and usually take place in the individual's local environment. As an escort, you enable the individual to participate in community life and break the isolation that can result from a disability.

The escort accompanies a person with a disability on activities outside the home. This may involve accompanying them on walks, to the cinema, bowling, swimming, sports events, or shopping. Working hours are determined by the client's needs and wishes, as well as the number of approved hours.

We are now looking for someone who wants to work on an hourly basis, primarily in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends when the need for escorting is greatest. We are also looking for summer substitutes.

Escorting and personal assistance are part of the same operation and management, which means that you as an escort may also work within personal assistance if needed. This provides opportunities for variation in the work and more job opportunities.

We match our staff to the clients' wishes and needs, so please mention in your application if you have specific skills or competencies. This could include expertise in alternative communication, being physically active, or experience leading individuals with visual impairments, etc.

Qualifications

To work as a substitute within functional support, you must be at least 18 years old, in accordance with the regulations regarding minors' working environment (AFS 2023:2).

It is advantageous if you have previous experience working in the field of functional support or in healthcare and social services. If you do not meet the passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered a language test via EducateIt.

We consider it an advantage if you have completed or are currently pursuing education in the field, such as support assistant, nursing assistant, or a completed or ongoing academic education in health care, behavioral science, or educational training.

Additionally, we appreciate experience/knowledge of low-arousal responses (LAB), alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), challenging behaviors, and self-harming behaviors.

As a substitute within functional support, you focus on the individual, have a pedagogical approach, and a genuine interest in people with various types of disabilities. It is important that you are attentive to the individual's needs to adapt your responses in different situations. For us, it is desirable that you are responsible and have a flexible approach. It is also very important that you are stable and secure as a person.

If you feel that the above description fits you, you are warmly welcome to apply!
