Software Developer at the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority
Do you want to work with complex issues and develop robust digital solutions that make a difference in society? We are looking for someone who can analyze and translate information into sustainable technical solutions. If you also have good collaboration skills, you could be our future colleague!
Essential Responsibilities
As a software developer, you will have overall responsibility for the development process - from idea to deployed solution. This means you will work through the entire chain. You will develop and maintain the authority's IT systems and participate in projects within both software development and maintenance. You will create database and object models as well as information flows and actively contribute to the further development of our new generation of development platforms for e-services. In close dialogue with the business, you will provide technical support on issues related to design, functionality, standards, accessibility, and usability. You will also handle integration and system architecture issues from a software development perspective and ensure that the solutions are sustainable over time.
Your mission is to build robust, efficient, and accessible systems in a team that supports the needs of the organization. This includes:
- taking overall responsibility for the development flow from requirements to finished product
- ensuring that frontend, backend, and databases work seamlessly together
- implementing security measures and optimizing performance
- writing testable code and testing, debugging, and addressing deficiencies
- working systematically with version control and collaborating in cross-functional teams
- being part of a competent team where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and shared responsibility are a natural part of the work
- having the opportunity to influence technical choices and contribute to a stable and modern digital public service
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree in programming or another education combined with work experience that the authority deems equivalent
- At least five years of relevant work experience as a software developer
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, and Microsoft SQL Server
- Good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
It is advantageous if you know:
- Git
- Typescript
- HTML5
- Microsoft DevOps
- React
- SCSS
- Telerik Kendo UI
- Agile methods (Scrum, Kanban)
- Unit and integration testing
Personal Attributes
To thrive in this role, we would like you to feel comfortable tackling more complex issues and challenges. You have a good analytical ability and can understand and evaluate extensive information in a structured way.
Since you work closely with your colleagues, you are attentive and value open, clear, and constructive dialogue. You have a structured approach to your work, plan it well, and strive to meet agreed timelines. At the same time, you are meticulous and care about delivering high quality. We appreciate those who are engaged, set ambitious goals for themselves, and are driven to develop and achieve good results together with others.
We expect you to have a high level of security awareness and to work according to both our values - Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (stralsakerhetsmyndigheten.se) and the Government's values (forvaltningskultur.se).
