Do you dream of combining technology, social benefit, and development? Then this could be your next challenge – Welcome to read more and submit your application!

We are one of Sweden's largest property owners and experts in fortification, that is, protection and construction technology. Our main mission is to contribute to increased defense capability for a safe and free Sweden. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop in a dynamic environment where your work makes a real difference for Sweden's security and future.

Your everyday life as an IT Project Manager

The IT department at the Fortifications Agency consists of about 55 employees and continues to grow. We work in both open and security-protected IT environments, where the security-protected solutions are a particular focus area right now.

The IT operations of the Fortifications Agency are in the midst of an exciting transformation journey, where we are gradually moving from traditional IT operations to a more business-oriented and service-oriented organization. Our focus is on creating value-adding initiatives, developing applications, and strengthening digitization – always with security as a central part.

As an IT Project Manager, you primarily drive system implementation projects where solutions from suppliers need to be adapted, implemented, and put into use in the operations. The projects often involve configuration, data migration, integration, testing, transition to management, and change management among users.

You work closely with both the business, internal technical teams, and external suppliers, and play a central role in keeping the whole process together from order to operational solution.

In the role, you will among other things:

  • Lead implementation projects of business systems and platforms
  • Coordinate the work between suppliers, the business, and internal IT functions
  • Plan resources and follow up on project timelines, costs, and quality
  • Be responsible for activities such as data migration, testing, transition, and handover to management
  • Ensure quality through testing and structured follow-up
  • Coordinate architects and technical teams to ensure that IT solutions meet business requirements, timelines, and budgets

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent. Alternatively, another relevant education that we assess as equivalent.
  • Several years of experience in system implementation or implementation projects where standard solutions are adapted to the needs of the business
  • Experience working with multiple suppliers and developers simultaneously in different projects
  • Experience in activities such as data migration, testing, transition to management, or change management
  • Several years of experience in IT projects or technical projects with complex solutions that include many integrations and security aspects.
  • You need to have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we place great emphasis on your suitability. You are a natural leader who is service-oriented, unpretentious, and quality-conscious. You collaborate well with others, are structured, and have the ability to support the team in maintaining focus under pressure. Knowledge transfer and actively contributing to the organization's development are seen as a natural part of your work.

It is a merit if you have:

  • PPS training or other relevant project management training
  • Understanding of system integration and IT architecture
  • Experience in projects within security-protected IT environments
  • Experience in the implementation of standard or business systems
  • Experience in data migration, test management, or transition to management
  • The ability to translate requirements and critically review them from both a user and technical perspective
  • Knowledge of the PM3 management model or other management methods for IT systems

Together with about 1400 colleagues at the Fortifications Agency across the country, you work with a unique property portfolio to strengthen total defense in Sweden. We are proud of the socially important mission we have, where by owning, developing, and managing properties for total defense, we contribute to a safe and free Sweden. Our tasks are varied, exciting, and challenging and require their competence. We work based on the state value foundation and strive for a balanced gender distribution.
