We are one of Sweden's largest property owners and experts in fortification, that is, protection and facility technology. Our main mission is to contribute to increased defense capability for a safe and free Sweden. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop in a dynamic environment where your work makes a real difference for Sweden's security and future.

Your everyday life – contribute to our development with a focus on security

The IT department currently consists of 55 people and plans to expand further in 2026. We work with both regular IT environments and security-classified IT environments, where the latter has a forward-leaning development and engagement. In 2022, a dedicated group for IT security was formed to meet the organization's needs for security, traceability, and accuracy in IT deliveries.

The IT operations of the Fortifications Agency are undergoing a development and change process, which means a gradual transition from traditional IT operations and management to a service-oriented, business-close organization. The IT department will shift from working intensively with operations, support, and management to collaboration and focusing more on value-creating initiatives, applications, and business development while meeting high security requirements.

The role of IT Security Technician aims to protect the agency's IT infrastructure and information assets from IT security threats by implementing, monitoring, and maintaining security systems, routines, and processes. You should be interested in and passionate about IT security issues.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Monitoring and analyzing security alarms and IT security incidents within the framework of the agency's SOC operations.
  • Monitoring the external environment for IT security threats that may affect the agency.
  • Implementing and maintaining the agency's IT security solutions such as firewalls, antivirus programs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Following routines and processes, and constantly working to improve and automate them. Documenting security incidents and actions taken.
  • Collaborating with other IT technicians/specialists to secure network and system infrastructure.

Regular tasks require you to work 100% on-site at the office in Eskilstuna.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has at least completed a high school education with a focus on IT security, networks, and communication, or who has gained equivalent education through work experience. You have excellent knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form, as well as good knowledge of English, and possess strong administrative skills. Swedish citizenship is a requirement.

We want you to have experience working with SIEM tools, log analysis, and incident management. You have also worked in IT security and have experience using and configuring security tools and products.

It is advantageous to have knowledge of laws such as the Personal Data Act, the Security Protection Act, and other relevant laws and regulations.

If you have IT security certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or IT security product certifications such as Cisco CCNP Security Core or similar, that is also advantageous, as well as knowledge and experience in programming and scripting languages.

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability, where an important part is that you are security-conscious. As a person, you are service-oriented and have good communication and collaboration skills. You are also quality-conscious and have your own drive and commitment to your work, as well as being structured and having good analytical skills. Actively supporting the organization and contributing to knowledge transfer with your colleagues is something you see as a natural part of your work.

What do we offer you?

Together with approximately 1400 colleagues at the Fortifications Agency across the country, you will work with a unique property portfolio to strengthen Sweden's total defense. We are proud of the socially important mission we have, where by owning, developing, and managing properties for total defense, we contribute to a safe and free Sweden. Our tasks are varied, exciting, and challenging and require expertise. We work based on the state value foundation and strive for gender balance. Equal rights and opportunities are important to us.
