AI Student Summer Job in Municipal Operations – Katrineholm Municipality
The Municipal Executive Office is tasked with assisting the Municipal Council in its functions. Our mission is to efficiently and coordinatedly provide strategic and operational guidance and support within the areas the office is responsible for, ensuring the municipal organization has the best possible conditions to fulfill its assignments and maximize citizen benefit. Our work is based on five key words: support, strategy, governance, collaboration, and coordination.

RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work alongside a mentor to familiarize yourself with the municipality and its processes. This includes participating in introduction meetings, conducting interviews with key personnel, and observing various operations to gain a deeper understanding of how the municipality functions. You will work full-time to implement the activities jointly identified during the mapping phase.
Your role will be to participate in and contribute to the practical implementation of AI solutions within the municipality's operations. You will play a key role in realizing our vision of a digitized future. You will work both independently and together with other AI students to achieve these goals.
Specifically, you will:
- Collaborate with various departments to identify opportunities to apply AI in daily processes.
- Develop and conduct workshops to increase AI knowledge within the municipality's operations.
- Gain practical experience in implementing AI solutions in a public sector environment.
- Contribute ideas and insights on how AI can create more efficient and inclusive services for the municipality's residents.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is currently studying or has recently studied at a university, university college, or vocational college in AI, data science, information technology, or related areas deemed relevant by the employer. You must have good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
As a person, you are curious, engaged, and passionate about technology and digitalization. You are interested in solving societal challenges using AI and wish to share your knowledge and inspire others to understand and use AI. You are innovative and have the ability to perform analyses and handle complex issues. Furthermore, you see solutions to complicated problems and come up with your own ideas on how to improve and develop operations. You have strong teamwork skills and find it easy to build good relationships. You enjoy working in a team but also have the ability to take responsibility for your own tasks and drive towards results.
Pay form: Hourly wage.
Employment type: Summer job / Seasonal work.
Duration: 3-6 months.
