Registrar/Medical Secretary for Forensic Psychiatry in Umeå

The Psychiatric Clinic at Norrlands University Hospital in Umeå is the largest psychiatric clinic in Norrland with over 400 employees. We have three general psychiatric wards, forensic psychiatric services, and several specialized outpatient and treatment units. The Psychiatric Clinic works for equitable care for all and nursing based on research and clinical experience. The Psychiatric Clinic is located in a newly built facility where the care environment is characterized by the importance of the care environment in promoting health. The living and working environment is supported by modern technology and research, which will be evident in the lighting and communication systems. The clinic will be climate-smart through self-sufficiency in electricity and heating.

The forensic psychiatric department has 20 care places. Forensic Psychiatry primarily receives individuals who have been sentenced to forensic psychiatric care, but also clients from the Swedish Prison and Probation Service who need psychiatric care/assessment, as well as patients who need to be cared for in a higher security class. The goal of the care is to reduce recidivism by improving mental health and developing individual and stable support functions for the patient to return to society.

We are now looking for a registrar/medical secretary for Forensic Psychiatry in Umeå, which has an inpatient department in security class 2, an outpatient clinic, and an examination unit.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a registrar/medical secretary with us, you provide important service and enable interventions that affect many.

The position is divided between medical secretary for the Forensic Psychiatric Department and Psychiatric Ward 2, as well as registrar for the Forensic Psychiatric Examination Unit (National Board of Forensic Medicine).

In the role of medical secretary, tasks include dictation, journal management such as copying and scanning, and providing administrative support for the ward's staff and chief physician. Patient safety, accessibility, and reception are important parts of the clinic's work. Having good and effective collaboration internally within the clinic and with neighboring care providers is essential from both a patient and staff perspective.

In the role of registrar, investigations for the National Board of Forensic Medicine are administered, requiring close cooperation with the investigating physician. This requires a high degree of personal responsibility and planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained medical secretary or healthcare administrator. You have good service skills, see opportunities, are flexible, and can take your own initiative. You prioritize and organize your work independently but also have good collaboration skills.

The Forensic Psychiatric Ward has two registrars/medical secretaries, and we are now seeking a replacement for one of these. Since there is a very close collaboration between you and your colleague, personal suitability will be of great importance.

Previous experience in Forensic Psychiatry is an advantage.
