Department of Forest Ecology and Management

As our colleague will be going on parental leave in the spring, we are looking for a structured and service-oriented economist for our administration, which consists of five other members.

About the Job

Main Responsibilities:

• Project accounting, follow-up, and reporting
• Reconciliation at year-end
• Administration of the undergraduate education
• Other administrative tasks

Your Background

We want you to have a post-secondary education in economics and preferably practical experience in this field. In this role, you will interact with many people, so personal qualities such as the ability to collaborate, provide good service to researchers, and work in a structured manner are particularly important. The job also requires good communication skills in both Swedish and English, as well as proficiency in Excel. Experience in financial work at a college or university is an advantage. In your work, you will be using several of SLU's data systems, such as ERP and Ladok. Since we are a small team working closely together, we place extra emphasis on personal suitability.

About Us

The economist will be employed at the Department of Forest Ecology and Management at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Umeå. The department consists of approximately 115 people, of which 9 are professors. Our staff comes from about 30 different countries, which means that English is often used as the working language. At our department, we conduct research on forest ecosystems in Sweden and other parts of the world and how to manage them in the best way both today and in the future.
