Controller at Skellefteå Municipality

Do you want to work closely with the organization and contribute to decisions that make a real difference in people's everyday lives? In Skellefteå Municipality, financial management plays a crucial role in a time of growth, transformation, and long-term development. Here, analysis and follow-up are used not only for control but as tools to create quality, coherence, and societal benefit.

We are now looking for a controller who wants to take an active and operational role in strengthening governance, decision support, and long-term development in the municipality.

YOUR ROLE

As a controller, you contribute to creating clarity, quality, and good decision support in the municipality's work. You work with qualified controller and accounting tasks and are an active participant in follow-up, analysis, and reporting. You support managers and operations in matters related to budgeting, accounting, and resource allocation, and contribute with financial analyses that strengthen governance and decision-making.

The role is broad and operational, involving work across several different operations simultaneously.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a degree in business administration or other relevant higher education that is deemed equivalent. You have experience in qualified controller and accounting work, for example as an economist or controller, which is a requirement for the position. You have good experience in working with accounting, budgeting, and resource allocation, as well as an understanding of how financial follow-up is used as a basis for governance and decision-making.

You communicate skillfully in Swedish, both verbally and in writing, and can adapt your message to the audience's conditions. You have the ability to clearly and pedagogically explain financial relationships and contribute to increased understanding within the organization. Experience working in a larger organization and with BI systems and larger financial systems is an advantage.

As a person, you are driven and have a strong analytical ability. You are self-sufficient and can work independently in a role with significant responsibility, while also valuing collaboration and actively contributing to joint processes and contexts. You are open, flexible, and enjoy working with multiple operations simultaneously. You have a good ability to prioritize when conditions change and can plan and structure your work effectively. You handle variations in tasks and pace professionally and can switch between different contexts based on the needs of the operations.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

With us, you will be part of the municipal executive office where financial management and follow-up are central tools for creating quality, coherence, and sustainability. You will work closely with managers and colleagues in various operations and contribute to strengthening the municipality's joint work through analysis, structure, and clear communication. In this role, you will have the opportunity to influence and contribute to development in a complex organization where your work makes a difference – both in everyday decisions and in the long-term perspective.

GOOD TO KNOW

We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer selection questions and attach an updated CV. We appreciate it if you take the time to answer the selection questions as thoroughly as possible, as they are an important basis for our initial selection.
