About the Job

Within enforcement, our main area of law is enforcement law, but we also deal with all of civil law. Your tasks will consist of making simpler decisions and writing statements according to the Enforcement Code. The decisions concern objections to enforcement. You will apply your legal expertise primarily in preparatory work based on applied guidelines and practices. You will have daily contact with our customers and other external parties. You may also prepare legal questions together with our experienced lawyers/enforcement officers.

You will also be responsible for preparing incoming documents and handling administrative tasks.

Everyone who works at the Swedish Enforcement Authority contributes to the fight against crime. Your tasks include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity and notifying other authorities of suspected crimes. As a preparatory lawyer, you may, for example, notice various types of criminal activity in cases. This can result in your contribution to preventing welfare crimes.

Possible locations are Umeå, Sundsvall, Östersund, or Luleå.

Your Qualifications:

  • A degree from the law program with 270 credits (180 credits according to the old system).

Good to Know

The employment is temporary full-time for one year with a start date to be agreed upon. You will be employed as a lawyer. The Swedish Enforcement Authority offers the possibility of remote work by agreement with the employer.

Working in the government means that you follow the government’s core values. There are also special requirements for judgment, security thinking, and compliance with applicable laws. We ask questions during the interview about any previous criminal activity and shortcomings in previous employment. For final candidates, these questions are also asked to references. We also obtain information about debts registered with the Swedish Enforcement Authority, bankruptcy, and business prohibitions. Any disclosed information will be taken into account in the overall assessment of your suitability for the position.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision is made. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
