This position reports to: R&D Team Lead
Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for an engaged and experienced software developer who thrives in an environment where stability, quality, and long-term focus are paramount. In this role, you will work on maintaining and improving established systems that are business-critical for our customers. This means you need to be meticulous, responsible, and appreciate working methodically in complex technical environments.
You will be an important part of a smaller team where your ability to work independently, in a group, and take responsibility for your deliveries is central. Here, we value individuals who like to have control over details, follow processes, and ensure that systems function as they should – every day. Since documentation is sometimes limited, you need to enjoy seeking information, familiarizing yourself with legacy codebases, and interpreting existing architecture.
Your responsibilities include:
- A broad responsibility covering the entire development process – from troubleshooting and bug fixing to building, configuration management, and cybersecurity. Documentation and testing are natural parts of the job.
- Maintenance and corrections of existing systems to ensure long lifespan, stability, and reliability.
- Work with regular software releases for Advant Master products within System 800xA and regression testing in our modern lab.
- Troubleshooting and resolving advanced technical issues within customer cases, where your experience and precision make a significant difference for our extensive installed customer base.
Qualifications for the role
- You are an experienced software developer with a good technical understanding; experience in hardware-near development is a plus.
- Knowledge of control systems and their structure; beneficial if you have worked with distributed control systems and industrial contexts.
- You have good knowledge of C/C++.
- You express yourself fluently in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- You have experience with source code management and are accustomed to structured working methods, for example, in Microsoft Visual Studio, which we use.
- As a person, you are meticulous, responsible, and appreciate working with systems where quality and stability are crucial.
