Senior Project Manager for Digitalization and Procurement

In the unit for digitalization and procurement, exciting and challenging tasks await in an environment characterized by problem-solving and a lack of prestige. We are responsible for providing and developing the city's central digital infrastructure and technical support, as well as assisting the operations in realizing their digitalization goals. In other words, it is up to us to ensure that the municipality's operations can take full advantage of the power of digitalization and work in as modern, secure, and efficient ways as possible. The unit consists of specialists in areas such as IT infrastructure, business development, and information security.

Your Responsibilities

You are the one who makes things happen. As a senior project manager, you take on city-wide development initiatives and transform ideas into concrete results. You plan, structure, and analyze to then lead your projects all the way to their set goals. In this role, you sometimes encounter challenges that require you to think creatively, structure the problem picture, and find the best way forward to solution and production.

You are the driving force that ensures that projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality. When necessary, you actively participate in contract follow-ups, requirement specifications, and procurements, ensuring that the city's interests are always safeguarded.

Since Västerås city's IT operations are completely outsourced, you need to have the ability to establish and develop collaboration with our suppliers. You follow up on deliveries and set requirements from a business-minded perspective. You contribute to developing new routines, processes, and working methods that enhance quality and efficiency in our daily work.

Your Competence

You have solid experience in leading complex projects within one or more of our focus areas, such as IT infrastructure, digitalization, systems coordination, supplier management, automation, or process development. You have experience in producing benefit, cost, and needs analyses with good results, as well as the ability to achieve good effects within set frameworks.

You have practical experience in procurements according to LOU (Public Procurement Act) and business development. You have excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing in Swedish. Experience from public administration is an advantage, as is knowledge of the management model pm3 or competence in data flows and integrations.

As a person, you are curious and forward-leaning with the ability to see development potential where others see obstacles. You love to come up with ideas and independently drive your work forward with energy and commitment. Since you work with many stakeholders, both internally and externally, you thrive in collaboration and naturally create good relationships. You are very structured and organized, which leads to your projects reaching their goals.
