Development Leader in Security and Preparedness

The City Property Management creates environments where life can thrive by planning, building, renting, managing, and developing premises and outdoor environments for the City of Gothenburg's operations.

We are one of Sweden's largest managers of public premises. Every day, 150,000 Gothenburg residents are active in schools, preschools, offices, and nursing homes that we manage.

Job Responsibilities

The City Property Management is responsible for ensuring the sustainable usability of properties over time with good technical status and satisfied customers. This is achieved through close cooperation with tenants, other departments within the management, partners, and other organizations in the city. We are in an exciting development phase where the new security unit is part of the department for development and governance. The unit consists of about ten employees working with civil preparedness, shelters, drones, perimeter security, as well as electrical safety and security protection. The unit is in a renovation phase where issues related to civil preparedness are increasing, and we work closely with the city management office.

We are now looking for a results-oriented development leader for our preparedness team – a role where you will have the opportunity to make a real societal impact and strengthen our ability to meet future security challenges. Here you will be an important player in our work to develop and ensure the highest possible security and preparedness, which is crucial for both society and our internal operations. As a development leader, you will work in a team responsible for crisis management, crime prevention, continuity management, shelters, preparedness plans, and physical protection. The particular focus of the position is on the renovation of our shelters, protected spaces, safety points, and other issues related to civil preparedness.

In your role as a development leader, you will support the management in conducting investigations and responding to service statements. You will conduct overall environmental monitoring within the security area and contribute to developing the use of communication systems and information management systems within the security area, as well as providing internal training. You will participate in networks within the city and be responsible for the development and updating of governing documents in the area. As a development leader, you will lead and follow up on the organization's processes within security. If necessary, you will perform other tasks based on the competence and experience requested by the employer.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in collaborative projects regarding security issues for several administrations within the City of Gothenburg
  • In collaboration with other employees in the unit, drive and develop the administration's security work according to the City of Gothenburg's guidelines
  • Monitor the environment, follow regulatory requirements, and industry development
  • Develop our crisis management

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education in areas such as civil preparedness, security, security protection, and crisis management.

To succeed in this role, you need to have:

  • Several years of work experience in the field, with a requirement that you have previously worked with similar tasks within public operations
  • Good experience in crisis management and preparedness issues as well as physical security
  • Experience in continuity management and risk management
  • Knowledge of legislation regarding civil preparedness

You have a strong and genuine interest in security issues, an ability to handle complex security challenges, and a drive to actively contribute to strengthening our resilience and supply security. You work result-oriented and structured, with a good ability to prioritize and deliver solutions among different matters and issues. With an independent and solution-oriented approach, you tackle tasks effectively while also possessing good administrative and written skills.

As a person, you are structured and analytical and have a solution-oriented approach. You have good communication skills in both speech and writing. Thinking and acting long-term and strategically in these matters is a given for you. You collaborate well with others.

Other Information

The position may be subject to security screening.
