The Environmental Strategic Department leads, supports, and coordinates work on environmental and climate-related issues for a sustainable Malmö. Climate Transition Malmö is the city of Malmö's initiative to mobilize public organizations, businesses, academia, associations, and Malmö residents to accelerate the pace of climate transition.

We are now looking for another engaged and driven employee to join the Climate Transition Malmö process leadership team. In this role, you will be a key function in leading, supporting, and coordinating the city's climate work.

The work involves strategically working towards achieving climate neutrality by 2030, leading efforts within the city's seven prioritized transition areas, engaging in dialogue with stakeholders across the city, and ensuring progress and follow-up on goal fulfillment. You will also contribute to project development and collaborate closely with colleagues within the city's administrations and companies.

This position places a particular focus on engaging and supporting Malmö city's administrations in their climate transition. This includes providing knowledge, developing materials, and creating tools that strengthen the administrations' ability to transition.

Qualifications

You have an academic education equivalent to at least 180 credits in fields such as natural sciences, social sciences, or you have acquired equivalent knowledge and skills through experience deemed relevant by the employer.

You have experience in leading and supporting change processes, preferably with a focus on climate transition. You have excellent communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as corresponding proficiency in English.

Experience and/or education in process management, experience with externally funded projects, and work in a politically governed organization are advantageous.

About the Workplace

The Environmental Strategic Department at the Environmental Administration drives and coordinates Malmö city's long-term environmental and climate work. The department coordinates the work with Malmö city's environmental program and is responsible for environmental monitoring of air, water, and nature. We drive the climate transition and together we work to make Malmö a greener city prepared for a changing climate. By monitoring environmental law issues in urban development, we prevent health and environmental problems for people, nature, and society. Approximately 50 dedicated employees work in the department across four units: climate and energy, environment and nature, environmental monitoring and analysis, and the program unit, which focuses on external funding.

The Environmental Administration leads and coordinates Malmö city's climate and environmental work. Through supervision and control according to environmental law and food law, we work for a safe environment that is not harmful to human health. We safeguard environmental interests in urban planning, are responsible for the municipality's energy and climate advice, and work with Fairtrade City. Through supervision, advice, and strategic environmental work, we strive to make Malmö a sustainable city.
