The role of a residential support worker involves significant personal responsibility, where you often work independently while building safe, supportive, and motivating relationships with those you meet.

Your New Job

As a residential support worker, your work is based on the decisions granted to individuals under the Social Services Act (SoL).

In this role, you will work from a pedagogical and motivational approach by supporting and motivating citizens in their daily lives. Your tasks will include both practical and social interventions carried out in the individual's home and outside of it.

You will work from a pedagogical and health-promoting perspective, aiming to empower individuals. A central part of the job is to work according to existing implementation plans and update them as needed. You will also be responsible for social documentation and case management, where you will be responsible for one or more citizens regarding planning and contacts, etc. The work also includes maintaining contact with citizens, relatives, colleagues, your immediate supervisor, and other professionals. In some cases, medication management may also be part of the job.

One position is for the residential support team in the Center, and one position is for the residential support team in Söder/Väst NPF.

Your Qualifications

For the title of residential support worker, one of the following qualifications is required:

• Completed high school program in child and leisure with a focus on social/pedagogical work
• Completed high school program in health and care/assistant nurse with a specialization in the disability field/psychiatry.
• Alternatively, another qualification that the employer deems equivalent.

For both positions, a B driver's license for manual transmission is required.

It is an advantage if you have previously worked with neuropsychiatric disabilities and mental disabilities, as well as if you have used digital work tools. You should also have a good command of Swedish in speaking, writing, and reading comprehension, as there will be contact with citizens, relatives, documentation, and reading information related to the work.

You are flexible, see opportunities in changes, and adapt quickly. You work independently by taking responsibility and structuring your tasks, but you also enjoy collaboration as the role involves many contacts.

You build relationships through attentiveness and good communication. In meetings with citizens, you are clear, pedagogical, and adaptable, and you handle difficult situations professionally with a strong belief in people's potential for development.

Welcome to Us

The residential support team in Söder/Väst NPF is based at Kaserngatan 12. We have a large catchment area. We are 4 teams that plan together, each team consists of 5 employees and serves approximately 40 citizens each. The target group focuses on neuropsychiatric disabilities, but many have dual diagnoses. Young adults living at home with their families are increasing. We also support citizens in their parental role. We meet once a week when everyone participates.

The residential support team in the Center is based at Kungsängsvägen 5. We are 2 teams that plan together, each team consists of 5-6 employees and serves approximately 30 citizens each. The target group focuses on mental disabilities, but many have dual diagnoses. We meet once a week when everyone participates.

The recruitment concerns 2 permanent positions. Working hours are scheduled for day/evening, weekdays as well as weekends. Jönköping Municipality strives for full-time as the norm and always offers 100% employment rate. We work with joint planning, which means that work in other operations may become relevant. An offer of a position in another operation may also become relevant.

In our citizens' homes, there may be animals of various kinds, and smoking may also occur. We also have individuals with risk use and we serve individuals living in category housing.
