Personal Assistant with Experience in Low-Affect Approach & Autism Wanted – Two Positions at 75%!
We are now looking for two dedicated and responsible personal assistants who want to work with a man in his 40s with autism and challenging behaviors. The positions are at 75%, with one starting on April 1 and the other on April 30. If you have experience with a low-affect approach and thrive in a job where you truly make a difference, this could be an assignment for you.
About the Assignment
The man lives in his own house in Bodafors, just outside Nässjö, and needs support in his daily life. The work includes personal care, household chores, cooking, and assistance with medication. You will also accompany him to daily activities and events, and since he lives in a house, some maintenance of both the garden and the home is included. Walks are a natural part of the day and can vary from shorter trips to longer nature excursions.
Music is a big part of his life, and he plays the piano every day. Having your own interest in music is therefore an advantage. He also enjoys participating in local dances and music cafes, often with double assistance. As he communicates through body language, sounds, and gestures, it is essential that you are attentive, responsive, and confident in interpreting non-verbal signals.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is calm, empathetic, and confident in themselves. You are patient, have a good ability to read situations, and can adapt to the individual's needs. The work requires you to be able to take your own initiatives and collaborate well with others, as double assistance occurs. Experience with a low-affect approach and working with individuals with autism is advantageous, as is previous experience in personal assistance.
A driver's license and access to your own car are required as public transport is limited during working hours. The job may also involve driving the client's car.
What We Offer
With us, you will have a varied and meaningful job where you have the opportunity to develop and contribute genuinely. You will receive a proper introduction and shadowing with an experienced assistant, and we offer annual training to ensure the quality of the assistance. We care about well-being and look forward to a long-term collaboration.
Employment Type & Working Hours
The positions are at 75%. One position starts on April 1, and the other on April 30. Working hours consist of days, evenings, weekends, sleeping on-call (4 hours of waiting time), and sometimes full-day shifts.
