Your New Job

Your new job involves supporting participants and instructing and guiding them in the activities they perform. We arrange activities that are individually tailored to abilities, needs, and interests. The activities we organize can take place both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions. Since both participants and the organization have varying conditions, it is essential that you are adaptable in carrying out your duties. You will work with different participants, which means that routines, working methods, and structures can vary. A low-arousal approach and clear pedagogical methods are central to your work.

Your Qualifications

For the position of support assistant, a completed and approved program in health and social care with a specialization in disability/psychiatry or a child and youth program with a focus on social work or educational work is required. Alternatively, other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Requirements for the position include at least 2 years of experience in disability care, autism, and challenging behaviors. Training in autism, clear communication, and low-arousal approaches is advantageous. You must be proficient in Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension, as there will be contact with participants, relatives, guardians, and other professionals, as well as documentation and reading information related to the work. A B driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement for the position.

As a person, you are secure and stable, with the ability to adapt to situations that arise in a professional manner. You are flexible and adaptable as you will work with various participants. We appreciate creativity and the ability to find new solutions in daily work, as well as being self-driven by taking responsibility, structuring, and prioritizing your tasks. You have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You respect the equal value of all individuals and are attentive and open to others' opinions.

Welcome to Us

Västerbrunn's daily activities are divided into two units, with one location situated at Skeppsbron and the other in Huskvarna. We coordinate staffing, and the position may involve work at several units within the daily activities area, but your base unit will be Västerbrunn's daily activities. The practical work varies between units, but much is common as we share a common value base for how the work should be carried out.

Good to Know

The recruitment pertains to a one-year temporary position with the possibility of extension and a permanent full-time position. The start date for the positions is as soon as possible or by agreement. Working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 17:00. We work with coordinated planning, which means that work at several daily activities will be relevant. Recruitment is ongoing with continuous selection and interviews.
