JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Working as a home respite caregiver means temporarily taking over the care of a child to give the guardians the opportunity for recovery and space in their daily lives. Through your support, parents can spend time with siblings, participate in activities, run errands, or simply rest and gather new energy. The position is a temporary hourly contract.

As a respite caregiver, you become an important and appreciated part of the family's daily life. You often build a close and trusting relationship with the child and the family, which requires sensitivity, respect, and a professional approach. The work usually takes place on weekday evenings, weekends, and during holidays.

Your assignment includes providing the necessary support in care while you are present. This may involve assistance with personal hygiene, support during meals, dressing and undressing, and bathroom visits. The respite care takes place in the child's home or in their immediate environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with disabilities.
• It is an advantage to be proficient in English or Tigrinya.
