Job Responsibilities

In the role of support assistant, you provide individually tailored support in daily life, both at home and during activities outside the residence. You work based on implementation plans developed together with the individual and in close collaboration with relatives, representatives, daily activities, and health care. The job requires flexibility regarding both tasks and working hours.

We continuously work on developing support and creating clarity in everyday life through adapted communication and pedagogical tools, such as visual support and schedules. The organization uses tools like Widgit Online and Picture My Life.

Documentation is done according to current legislation, and social documentation is a central part of the work. The job can be physically demanding and involves, among other things, transfers and support in daily activities, which requires good physical ability.

About the Workplace

The main task of the Social Administration is to offer individualized support and services within elderly care, disability, children and family, adults, and financial assistance. We are there for the residents of the municipality through all stages of life.

Ribban and Viljan Group Homes are located in Nynäshamn, close to nature, services, and good communication. Ribban is in the Backlura area and Viljan in the Utsikten area, near Sjötelegrafens shopping center and the harbor. Both group homes consist of six apartments and common areas such as kitchens, living rooms, and staff rooms. Here live individuals who have been granted housing with special services according to LSS 9 § 9.

The workgroup consists of seven support assistants in each unit and a group manager. Working hours are coordinated within the existing scheduling process between the two units, and if necessary, work can be assigned to other LSS operations, both within the regular schedule and through so-called relocation time.

We place great importance on respectful interactions and creating a safe and positive environment for both users and employees; we have a strong focus on development and innovative working methods, and collaboration is a prerequisite.

What We Are Looking for in You

To succeed in the role, you have:

• nursing assistant education with a focus on disability or equivalent education
• current experience working in group homes and/or service housing within LSS
• experience working with various behavioral issues
• basic computer skills
• good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience with clear pedagogical methods
• experience and knowledge of low-arousal approaches
• experience working with alternative communication
• experience working with outwardly aggressive behavior.
