About us
Skyttorp LSS is a group home according to LSS §9:9 for four adults in target group 1 who have intellectual disabilities and autism combined with neuropsychiatric diagnoses such as ADHD, mental illnesses, and complex and extensive behavioral challenges.
The assignment involves a very high and continuous level of care and support where safety, structure, and professional endurance are central parts of the work. The target group has extensive support needs related to behavioral difficulties and requires a safe, structured, and predictable everyday life.
The residence is expected to be completed by the end of February 2026 and is located in the calm and safe area of Skyttorp, about 25 km north of Uppsala.
About the position
We are looking for engaged and experienced housing supporters/support assistants for our new specialized LSS group home. This assignment requires an extremely high and continuous level of care and support. You will be part of a team that delivers the special personnel resources required to ensure safety and security for both residents and staff.
What does the role entail?
Professional handling: Good ability to prevent, manage, and redirect situations safely. You actively contribute to ensuring individuals' safety.
Structure and approach: You work from a consistent and individualized approach with clear structure and boundaries while showing care and endurance.
Active support: You provide support in ADL, planning, employment, and leisure activities.
Health competence: You support individuals in managing their somatic illnesses and other medications, as well as handling anxiety/restlessness and attention-seeking behavior without reinforcing it.
Employment conditions
We are currently looking for several employees for a permanent position, with a six-month probationary period. The position is 100% and the working hours are varied: day, evening, weekend, and night.
We apply individual salary setting and other compensations are according to collective agreements. Start date for the position will be agreed upon.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with high endurance and the ability to methodically work to build increased trust and stable relationships over time. As a housing supporter/support assistant, you need to have good patience and be responsive and flexible. You take shared responsibility for a positive work environment through respectful interaction. You have a good ability to work in a team characterized by close staff presence and continuity in staffing.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and your ability to create trust.
To apply for the position, you must have:
At least a high school education, preferably in care and nursing, social work, behavioral science, pedagogy, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
Experience working with the LSS target group, neuropsychiatric disabilities, and complex/aggressive behaviors.
Experience with NPF, psychiatry, mental health issues, and aggressive behaviors.
Experience in Low Arousal Approach (LAB) and clarifying pedagogy.
Experience and knowledge in Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).
Documentation skills and knowledge of Individual Needs in Focus (IBIC).
Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, as documentation is a significant part of the job.
Driving license B.
It is meritorious if you have:
Knowledge and experience in art, music, sports, or crafts.
Ability to use support signs and/or sign language.
