As an Engineering Manager with us, you will play a central key role in shaping our future engineering organization and scaling our delivery capacity.

About Blikk

Blikk is a fast-growing product company. Our smart cloud services are used daily by thousands of users across many different industries. The Blikk team consists of around 50 sharp specialists working with everything from system development to user support, sales, and marketing. The majority work from the head office in Piteå, but we also have offices in Luleå, Stockholm, and Gothenburg. Additionally, we have several remote employees across the country.

Responsibilities

As an Engineering Manager, your primary mission is to build, lead, and develop the people who build our product. While a Team Lead focuses on the operational flow “here and now,” you look ahead. You have formal personnel responsibility for about 10 people and act as an enabler through genuine servant leadership.

You will:

  • Act as a coach and mentor: You own the entire employee journey – from regular 1:1 meetings and career planning to salary reviews. You ensure that our core values – psychological safety and intellectual humility – permeate everyday life.
  • Be the CTO's closest partner: You translate the technical vision into concrete plans for personnel development and organizational structure. You are the bridge that provides the CTO with insight into the health and capacity of the teams.
  • Drive recruitment and growth: As a Recruiting Manager, you are responsible for attracting tomorrow's talents and ensuring a world-class onboarding to give our new colleagues a flying start.
  • Ensure systemic health: You support our Team Leads in identifying bottlenecks by following up on flow metrics (e.g., cycle time). You build sustainable delivery capacity over time.
  • Be a culture ambassador: You drive our “blameless culture” and actively work with our delegation model to move decision-making as close to the code as possible.

Who are you and what have you done before?

We are looking for a confident leader with a good understanding of the technical craftsmanship process. You measure your own success through the development of your employees and the long-term performance of the team.

We believe that you:

  • Have experience with formal personnel responsibility for software developers in a growing organization.
  • Have a technical background (e.g., as a developer) that allows you to act as a credible sparring partner in strategic technology issues.
  • Are deeply familiar with Continuous Delivery (CD) and agile methods, and have an interest in measuring progress through relevant flow metrics.
  • Are a skilled communicator who can explain the “why” behind strategic decisions and create engagement.
  • Have experience driving recruitment processes and building strong employer brands.
  • Fluent in both Swedish and English.

It is a plus if you have previously worked in a scaling SaaS environment and have experience leading through other leaders (e.g., in collaboration with Team Leads).

Location and scope

The position is full-time and permanent. Our employments begin with a six-month probationary period. For this role, you will be based in one of our offices in Piteå or Gothenburg.
