IT / Communication Technician at 1st Helicopter Squadron Base Platoon

About the position

The 1st Helicopter Squadron is based in Luleå and has the main task of conducting ground operational activities with helicopters. The squadron is the northernmost combat unit of the helicopter wing, responsible for the wing's development in winter environments. As a communication technician at the 1st Helicopter Squadron, you will serve in the Base Platoon's communication group. The work is both varied and developmental, ranging from operations and maintenance to administrative tasks. Our command support systems are used both in fixed infrastructure and in vehicles and containers for use in field environments. Here, you will have the opportunity to work in a stimulating environment alongside experienced colleagues. The communication group consists of both civilian and military personnel.

Main responsibilities:

Maintain the squadron's IS/IT systems
Work with installation, configuration, and commissioning of new equipment and software updates
Work with intrusion protection (firewalls), protection against malware, and BKS (authentication)
Preventive maintenance on IS/IT equipment
Participate in equipment and system expansions
Train other personnel in the squadron within your area of expertise

Qualifications

Requirements

At least a high school diploma
Documented knowledge in IS or IT
Basic competence in data communication
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP-based networks and Microsoft operating systems for servers and clients
Good knowledge of Swedish and English
Class B driver's license

Desirable

Work experience in IS/IT
General knowledge of the Armed Forces' IS/IT systems
Basic military training (GMU), completed conscription, or equivalent military training.

Employment type: Civil permanent position. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.
