About the operation

Join us in developing the future care for individuals with memory-related issues within the area of cognitive primary degenerative diseases.

The Neuropsychiatry area currently consists of a memory clinic and a center for Huntington's disease, inpatient care for elderly psychiatry, and mobile teams for the elderly and patients with BPSD. Additionally, the operation is responsible for regional clinics for patients with intellectual disabilities and psychiatry for the deaf and hard of hearing. Starting in April, neuropsychiatric outpatient care and the eating disorder care chain are also planned to move to the operational area. Today, we are about 200 employees with facilities in Mölndal, but part of the operation is planned to move to the Sahlgrenska hospital site. The operation has a strong research environment, especially in memory-related diseases and drug trials related to Alzheimer's disease.

Our ambition is to be a role model in Swedish adult psychiatry in terms of working person-centered and offering evidence-based treatments and investigations.

At the memory clinic, an exciting development is currently underway where we hope to offer disease-modifying treatment for Alzheimer's disease in the future. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop care as we are currently working on creating a fast track for investigation of Alzheimer's disease. Here, you will be part of the latest dementia research, teach and supervise medical students/AT/ST doctors, and work in a team-based manner with nurses, caregivers, neuropsychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists.

Job responsibilities

As a specialist with us, you will primarily work at our outpatient clinic where, with the help of a clear structure and an engaged team, you will conduct investigations of patients with cognitive degenerative diseases. You will meet patients and relatives and examine the patient's cognitive, psychiatric, and somatic health status, where extended investigations with lumbar puncture/extended radiology and genetic testing may also be relevant. We expect you to have an interest in working clinically with dementia investigations and that, like us, you are passionate about developing care for these individuals.

Your duties also include participating in on-call activities and being scheduled within our inpatient/primary care team during scheduled periods of leave.

About you

We are looking for a licensed physician and specialist in psychiatry/geriatrics/neurology/general medicine. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
