Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a Central Watch Operator at SiS Johannisberg in Kalix!
SiS youth home Johannisberg is a high-security institution beautifully located next to the Kalix River in the quiet residential area of Grytnäs. The institution is in a development and expansion phase where work is ongoing to increase staffing and security. Our target group in Kalix is boys aged 16 - 21 placed according to the Law on Closed Youth Care and the Law on Care of Young People. All work is permeated by our guiding principles: Respect, Care, and Clarity. All newly hired employees are offered a thorough introduction with guidance and further training in areas such as security, unauthorized influence, conflict management, CPR, and more.
As an operator in the central watch, you play an important role in the institution's operational security work. You work with managing the institution's overall alarm system and remotely control doors/gates for staff. You receive visitors through our registration house and ensure that all visits are approved and announced, as well as that client transports are received safely. The central watch plays an important role in our alarm management in collaboration with the operational leader. Communication occurs via technical systems with written messages, phone, communication radio, and functional control of alarms. Furthermore, the role includes coordinating outdoor activities and the sluicing of detainees on the institution's premises to increase safety for both youth and staff. In the central watch, you are expected to have close cooperation with the operational leader and all departments within the institution. Administrative work in alarm and data systems is part of the role, as well as counting and controlling keys.
The working hours are scheduled according to a rotating schedule of days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who collaborates well with others and communicates in a well-formulated and engaged manner in contact with visitors, colleagues, and other professionals at the institution. Your approach and attitude are permeated by our guiding principles: Respect, Care, and Clarity. To succeed in the role, you need to have a high security awareness and the ability to work independently and take responsibility for our security systems and associated tasks.
You should also have:
- High school diploma
- Good ability to express yourself in spoken and written Swedish
- Good computer skills and basic technical competence
Meritorious:
- Experience in security work, e.g., monitoring center, central watch, or equivalent work that the employer assesses as comparable.
- Driving license B
