Investigator with a focus on statistics and analysis

The unit for external relations and coordination in the department for global affairs and business at the city office is now looking for an investigator with a focus on statistics and analysis.

Job Responsibilities

As an investigator, you will conduct qualified analyses of the development in Malmö, primarily in the areas of business/growth and societal development. You will transform complex data sets into clear insights and decision-making materials that you present both orally and in writing. You will work both independently and in internal and external working groups. Additionally, process leadership for various analysis and development projects is included as part of the role.

As an investigator, you will:

• Conduct qualified analyses, forecasts, and statistical processing for societal development, primarily in the growth and business areas.
• Monitor and analyze developments in the area and related fields
• Communicate and present results orally and in writing
• Project and process lead various analysis and development projects
• Perform qualified processing of decision-making materials
• Be part of the development work that takes place collectively in the unit and department.

In this role, you are expected to work independently and take your own initiatives that drive development towards predefined goals. In addition to being a civil servant in municipal operations and knowledgeable in your field, you are expected to collaborate broadly and contribute to the joint work of the city office and department.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in economics, business administration, or another relevant field that includes studies in statistics
• Several years of experience working with and analyzing large data sets, preferably in the field of economics/business.
• Work experience presenting statistics and analyses in writing and orally in an accessible and pedagogical manner
• Experience in preparing matters for decision
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English
• Excellent ability to express yourself clearly in both speech and writing

This is a position for someone with an analytical mindset, creativity, and good pedagogical skills. The tasks require you to be responsible, proactive, and enjoy working independently, as well as being able to structure your work. You find it easy to create and maintain professional relationships, both within and outside the organization. You understand the importance of both internal and external collaborations to achieve good results in your work.
