JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a land and development engineer, you will work with everything from implementation issues during detailed planning to the allocation of municipal land. The work includes development economics with the preparation of calculations in early stages, property purchases, negotiations, land allocations, and contract writing such as land transfer agreements and development agreements, as well as work with land management and issues such as servitudes, leases, and rights of use.

To succeed in this role, you need to be communicative, structured, and driven, as well as have an easy time taking initiative and building relationships. You should also be able to adapt and smoothly switch between different tasks. You have well-developed methods for organizing and prioritizing your work effectively. Your work will be in close collaboration with politics, other departments, authorities, citizens, and other stakeholders. Providing good service and advice is an important part of the job.

The position is located within the Planning and Development area of the Municipal Service Department. Planning & Development is a team that currently consists of nine people working with strategic planning of land and water areas, detailed planning, sustainability issues, land management, development, energy advice, and nature and water conservation.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a civil or bachelor’s degree in land and development, surveying, or equivalent, or another educational background that the employer considers equivalent.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of property law issues such as property sales and/or property acquisitions
• Good negotiation skills and experience in drafting various contracts within the development process.
• Experience working in a politically governed organization.
• Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
• Driver's license B.

Meritorious:

• Experience as a public purchaser, LOU, and construction procurement.
