Within the Care and Support Administration, we have full-time as the norm. This means that all permanent employees fundamentally have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a possible interview. Exceptions (from full-time as the norm) are personal assistants.

We are now looking for educators for our short-term accommodations Rosendal and Vilanvägen. The services target children and young people with disabilities who have been granted accommodation under the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). Up to 5 children or young people aged 0-21 can stay in the short-term accommodations.
The short-term accommodation at Vilanvägen is located in the Vilan/Nåntuna district near a large outdoor recreation area, about 6 km from central Uppsala. Our short-term accommodation Rosendal is located in the Rosendal area.
We work based on the individual needs of each child and young person together with the child/young person to ensure that everyday life with us is as safe, calm, and predictable as possible. We collaborate with relatives and the child and young person's other networks. We offer you as an employee regular supervision and opportunities for further education.
Job Description
Your main task is to support children and young people with disabilities in their daily lives. Challenging behavior is common. As an educator, you contribute to making the everyday life of children and young people as predictable and clear as possible.
Your tasks include:
- Establishing implementation plans, documenting, being a contact person, and participating in collaboration, operational, and workplace meetings
- Creating a good collaboration with the children/young people's relatives and their other networks
- Providing support in personal care and assisting with medications
- Your work also includes household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and more
You will work weekdays and weekends both day and night. There may also be sleeping on-call duties.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is an educated support educator, preschool teacher, or has another relevant education. To succeed in the role, you need to have experience working with children with various disabilities and feel comfortable working with challenging behaviors.
Requirements:
- Pedagogical education as a support educator, preschool teacher, or an equivalent education that the employer deems relevant for the position
- Experience working with children with various disabilities and challenging behaviors
- Fluent in Swedish in both spoken and written form
- Driver's license (B)
- Good computer skills
- Experience in documentation
Meritorious:
- Knowledge of Alternative Communication (AKK)
- Knowledge and experience of low-arousal approaches
You easily adapt to changing circumstances and can quickly change your perspective and approach. You have good collaboration skills and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner. Furthermore, you listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. You also have the ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation without taking over their feelings. Last but not least, you have pedagogical insight with an understanding that people learn in different ways and have different needs. Therefore, you adapt how you tell and explain things so that the recipient can easily understand.
