We will request an extract from the criminal record before employment can be offered for positions within authority operations, in the area of children and youth.

Our work has a significant impact on the lives of children and young people, and the feeling of creating value and making a concrete difference is palpable. Many of us are experienced and have worked for several years in the area of placements. Are you a qualified social worker with experience in authority operations in the area of children and youth? Welcome!

We have three placement units that are part of the Child and Youth Authority department and belong to the reception, support, and placement area. There are three placement units, and each unit has about 25 employees. In total, we are about 80 people working with our foster care children. We work with long-term placements and focus (besides legal security as our primary guideline) on building trust and creating relationships with our children/youth/clients and biological networks. We have flexible working hours and there are opportunities to schedule your work time at another location when the operations allow it. We are located in modern premises at Bolandsgatan 10a.

Job Description

As a social worker, you are responsible for following up on the progress of the children and youth who are placed. We work with authority operations towards individuals. You will meet our placed children and conduct home visits to their foster homes. You will hold conversations with the children based on their age and maturity, write assessments and reviews of care, and investigate needs and make decisions (according to delegation) regarding the placed child. We work with children and youth placed under both the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Special Provisions for the Care of Young People (LVU). You will make assessments and analyses of the children's needs based on these and other relevant laws. A significant part of your work will also involve collaborating with the children's biological parents and networks. Questions about visitation may, for example, be part of your tasks. Other tasks may include contract follow-up and contact with other authorities, such as the Social Insurance Agency and the Region. Travel throughout the country is a natural part of our work. Although we can usually plan our days, there is considerable variation in our work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in social work.
  • A valid driver's license (B).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish.
  • Experience in authority work with children and youth.

You are secure in your professional role and have good self-awareness, which allows you to view relationships and situations from a professional perspective. You take responsibility for your tasks and structure your approach independently, driving your processes forward. You meet changes with flexibility – you can quickly adapt both your mindset and working methods and see opportunities where others may see obstacles. As a person, you are attentive and adaptable, communicate clearly, and contribute to constructive solutions even when disagreements arise.
