Your mission

In the role of support assistant, you will start from the individual needs and wishes of the residents and provide support in daily life based on a pedagogical approach. Together with other employees, you work towards the goal of making life meaningful and enriching. You support and guide with personal care, meals, medication management, cleaning, community contacts, and communication. An important part of the job is to stimulate and motivate the resident to develop their abilities and create opportunities for an active and meaningful leisure time. Your tasks also include documenting and planning based on implementation plans.

As a support assistant with us, you play an important role in the daily work with our care recipients. You contribute to creating a safe, meaningful, and sustainable everyday life, where each individual is given the opportunity to grow and develop based on their own conditions.

You plan, implement, and follow up on support measures based on implementation plans and individual goals. You document according to applicable guidelines and actively participate in the quality work of the organization through reflection, collaboration, and pedagogical efforts.

The assignment also includes, after delegation from a licensed nurse, managing and handing over medications according to applicable routines and patient safety regulations.

The working hours are scheduled awake night shifts.

About Opplunda HVB

The facility is located in newly renovated and nature-close premises in Älby, Björklinge. Älby is about 20 kilometers north of Uppsala and offers a calm, rural, and beautiful environment with proximity to forests, lakes, and open fields. The peaceful surroundings create good conditions for recovery, walks, and nature-based activities – a safe place for both care recipients and employees.

We are looking for someone who

  • is a trained social pedagogue or has equivalent education in social work,

  • has experience working with people with mental health issues and substance abuse problems,

  • has good knowledge of social documentation,

  • is solution-oriented, creative, and confident in your professional role,

  • has a driver's license (B),

  • enjoys collaborating while also being able to work independently,

  • wants to help create a safe, sustainable, and meaningful everyday life for others.

Your experience and knowledge

We assume that you who are applying to us: • have a positive outlook and a strong commitment to people • are responsible and have personal maturity • enjoy working in a team and supporting your colleagues

You have at least a high school education in care and nursing or another equivalent education. It is an advantage if you have experience working with the target group. You have good computer skills and experience in documentation. Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is a requirement, but otherwise, your CV is not the most important. If you have the right qualities, we will provide you with support and opportunities to grow.
