Mechanical and Piping Designer
About the role
As a Mechanical and Piping Designer with us, you will play a central and important role in developing, optimizing, and ensuring the quality of our production facilities. You will work closely with process technology, project management, and the operations organization to ensure that our solutions meet the highest standards in function, safety, and GMP compliance. Here, you will help shape the future of production – from idea to finished installation.
In this role, you will:
- Develop design documentation for mechanical solutions and piping systems
- Be responsible for 3D modeling and drawing production (e.g., AutoCAD and Plant 3D)
- Participate in investment and renovation projects
- Perform technical calculations and sizing
- Ensure that designs comply with applicable standards, safety requirements, and internal procedures
- Lead assembly efforts and conduct installation inspections
- Participate in risk analyses, Design Reviews, and field verifications
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and external suppliers to find sustainable and robust solutions
You will report to the Head of Technical Services, and the role is based in Karlskoga.
Who are you?
You have a technical education in mechanical engineering, piping design, process industry, or a related field. You have experience in design work within the industry, preferably in a chemical or process-oriented environment, and you are proficient in various CAD tools. It is also an advantage if you have an understanding of GMP or have worked in another strictly regulated environment.
As a person, you are a meticulous and structured designer who enjoys working in project form. You find it easy to collaborate, take initiative, and drive your work forward with a solution-oriented and proactive approach.
