We are now looking for a youth consultant for Actionpark for a temporary position until the end of the year with the possibility of extension.

The Leisure West unit operates Actionpark, a skatepark covering almost 2000 square meters of pits, jumps, edges, and obstacles for everyone riding skateboards, kickbikes, inline skates, and BMX. Actionpark is open to everyone. Everyone, regardless of age or background, should have the opportunity to practice their sport, culture, and lifestyle.

Actionpark is one of several staffed locations in Gothenburg with various play and activity areas. These places aim to promote meaningful leisure activities for children and young people, create intergenerational meetings, and increase safety and social cohesion in the city. The locations offer an open leisure operation with various activities that promote movement, creativity, and meetings primarily aimed at the target group of young people aged 10-20.

The locations are open to everyone and provide value for both the city's residents, the region, local residents, and tourists. Each location has its unique character, and the staff works to arrange, support, and inspire free activities. Through clear influence and participation processes, the offerings can vary, including opportunities to participate in activities, borrow equipment, and receive coaching in leadership. We also actively work with inclusion and accessibility to attract more visitors.

The operation should, among other things:

• Build on voluntary participation and respond to young people's self-perceived needs, interests, ideas, and experiences.
• Contribute to young people's personal and social development through non-formal and informal learning.
• Aim to strengthen young people's self-determination, autonomy, and access to their rights.
• Have a holistic perspective on young people and meet them where they are, as capable individuals and primary resources in their own lives and for society as a whole.
• Promote critical thinking and creativity as well as human rights and democratic values.

Part of the work with Actionpark also involves outreach work in schools aimed at marketing the operation and building relationships with the target group. Additionally, various assignments such as School as an Arena, Passalen, mentoring summer workers, and/or young leaders/ambassadors are included.

This position includes working evenings. Weekend work and other events may occur throughout the year. During school breaks, we have extra activities and operations running.

Qualifications

To apply for the position, you need to have a leisure leader education or another equivalent post-secondary pedagogical education that the employer deems relevant for the assignment. You also need to have experience in youth work and experience coaching young people in various influence and/or participation processes.

We also consider it a requirement that you have good experience and knowledge regarding skate culture, and we see it as a bonus if you skate yourself.

It is also meritorious if you have worked with creation in various forms such as art, music, etc. We also consider it meritorious if you have experience coaching others in the field and if you have worked in a similar place before.

As a person, we are looking for someone with a good attitude. You are friendly and helpful to others, and you show respect for everyone you meet at work. You are inviting and positive. You work with participation as part of your job and have an ability to build relationships naturally.

You are also responsible and structured in such a way that you take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks in a structured manner. You have a strong commitment and enthusiasm for your work.

We in the social administration Centrum work every day to ensure that residents in central Gothenburg have a better everyday life. Our tasks in the social area are many and span from authority exercises to promotional and preventive measures. We work locally but also have operations that target the entire city to meet our residents' needs.
