SiS Youth Home Nereby operates in Harestad and Bergsjön. We conduct differentiated and high-quality educational, care, and treatment work. The operations involve a variety of professions, such as teachers, treatment pedagogues, psychologists, nurses, and more. SiS Youth Home Nereby accepts both school-age and non-school-age boys and girls with psychosocial issues, as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse.

Job Description

Do you want to help create life-changing differences for vulnerable individuals? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your role is to motivate our youth/clients to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines on the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth/clients and are responsible for the basics of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You also help maintain order and safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building trusting relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth/clients receive the security and safety they need to break ingrained behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

You will be employed at Nereby in general and should be willing to work extra at both of our units, Harestad in Kungälv and Bergsjön. Your schedule will be based out of one of our two units in Bergsjön. We will continuously review the job posting, apply today!

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is having a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You should also have:

• At least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or other education equivalent to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
• Driver's license B
• Good Swedish in speech and writing
• Experience from client-facing positions in the Correctional Service, e.g., Correctional Officer
• Experience from client-facing positions at the Migration Agency, e.g., caseworker at the Detention Center
• Education in care and welfare
• Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc.)
