Social Worker for Social Services, Support and Care Unit

The Support and Care Unit is part of Safety and Support within Individual and Family Care.

As a social worker, you will work on investigating the right to services according to the Social Services Act (SoL). Our mission primarily targets elderly individuals who need support to live as safely and independently as possible.

Our unit consists of 18 experienced caseworkers with great commitment and high competence in the field.

The unit is currently led by a chief social worker and a unit manager. We will expand with another chief social worker in the spring.

We are now looking for an engaged and responsible social worker who wants to work with us primarily throughout the summer, but preferably also during the spring and into the fall.

As a new employee, you will receive an individually tailored introduction to get into the work in the best way. We offer the possibility of a longer introduction during the spring.

Responsibilities

Our mission is to meet the individual's needs for services to contribute to increased independence based on the individual's circumstances. We place great emphasis on the individual's participation. We use the IBIC investigation method.

• Investigate and handle cases according to SoL.
• Assess needs and make decisions about services.
• Provide support and guidance to the individual/relatives/representatives.
• Collaborate with relatives, providers, and other professionals.
• Follow up on granted services.
• Standard administrative tasks related to the social worker role.

The work is varied and requires a good ability to create trusting relationships, make well-founded decisions, and maintain good structure in everyday life.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You may also have ongoing studies in the field.

• As a person, you are meticulous and independent and can easily handle when conditions and planning change in the work.
• Since the work involves many contacts, both internally and externally, you should have good collaboration skills, be outgoing, and positive.
• You should have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
• Have a professional and empathetic approach and good communication skills.
• You are skilled at independently planning your work and ensuring progress in your cases.
• Have work experience and can work independently but also ask for help when needed.
• Be meticulous, unpretentious, and solution-focused.
• Experience in authority exercise (meritorious but not required).
• Have a very good ability to document, structure, and formulate in writing.
• Good knowledge of the laws that govern our work.
• Knowledge of Treserva and IBIC is meritorious.
• A driving license (B) is a requirement.
