Do you want to help create an exciting and developing after-school environment for the students of Änglandaskolan? Do you have a genuine interest in creating meaningful experiences in after-school care? Then this might be the position for you! We are currently offering the opportunity to work as a lead teacher in our after-school program.
About the Position
Welcome to Änglandaskolan! We view after-school care as an important complement to school, focusing on learning through play as well as communication and interaction. As a lead teacher in after-school care with us, you will have a central role in the pedagogical development and daily operations of the after-school program at our school. The after-school program consists of four departments, and together with the four team leaders of the departments, you will lead the after-school activities and work to create an environment that engages both our students and staff. Your mission is focused on pedagogical development and is an important complement to the team leaders' operational focus. A significant part of your work involves exploring and developing the after-school program in a way that gives students' time in after-school care purpose and meaning. Our goal is for all students to develop and learn new things together, grow as individuals, and feel that after-school care is a place they want to be after school. To achieve this, a genuine interest in developing and adapting after-school activities to meet students' needs and conditions is required.
As a lead teacher in after-school care, you will be part of the school's development group consisting of a lecturer, special educators, and three other lead teachers. Together, you will work to monitor, evaluate, and develop methods and approaches for increased goal fulfillment and meaningfulness for all students at the school.
Examples of Job Responsibilities:
- plan, implement, and evaluate teaching within after-school care
- use methods and approaches that lead to the best possible goal fulfillment
- work collaboratively with the team and other staff at the school
- work methodically with systematic quality work together with school management
- regularly monitor the environment and participate in school-wide work in the school's development group
- develop collegial learning and promote pedagogical development of after-school activities
- share knowledge and teaching skills with colleagues
- support colleagues in their professional development through proven models and methods

Qualifications
As a lead teacher in after-school care, it is important that you have good collaboration skills, listen, communicate, and contribute to a safe after-school environment. You should also have knowledge of children's development and learning, as well as the ability to adapt teaching based on both group and individual students' needs and conditions. In your role as a lead teacher, a good ability to lead and engage the work team towards the set goals of the program is required. You are proactive and contribute to an engaged climate where our students' development and well-being are in focus. Furthermore, you have a strong interest in pedagogy and are motivated to work with program development from both the perspective of after-school care and the school as a whole.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- teacher certification with authorization to teach in after-school care, or alternatively, a qualifying degree that grants teacher certification
- experience working in after-school care
Desirable:
- experience leading pedagogical activities in after-school care
