About the Position

The position is a parental substitute for the autumn semester of 2026. The role includes teaching biology and possibly related subjects. Parts of the teaching may be conducted in English. The main tasks include planning, implementing, and evaluating lessons. You will be part of the team for the Natural Science Program and will have tasks related to joint activities within the program and the school.

Examples of Tasks:

• plan, implement, and evaluate lessons in both English and Swedish
• mentorship for students
• work and document in the existing operational systems
• participate in team work
• engage in other school activities with the school's staff
• provide mentorship for students/perform class supervisor duties
• support students' social development
• create a good learning environment
• be familiar with and follow the applicable laws, policies, and routines of the organization and document in the existing operational systems

About the Workplace

Rudbecksgymnasiet is one of Örebro Municipality's four upper secondary schools. The school is centrally located with approximately 1500 students and about 140 staff. Here, we prepare and equip our students for the future by making studies varied and grounded in reality. Rudbecksgymnasiet offers both university and vocational preparatory programs: the Economic Program, Sales and Service Program, International Baccalaureate, Natural Science Program, Social Science Program, and Health and Social Care Program. The school also hosts the National Gymnasium for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing with both university and vocational preparatory programs. We are a school that has cross-program projects in which all programs participate, as well as an active work to create safety. We have a common student health service and an established organization for students in need of support. We see the benefit of working together and view each program as part of a whole. Teachers are organized into teams, and we also have subject teams for professional development and subject and teaching development.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• teaching certification with qualifications to teach biology at the upper secondary level, or an equivalent qualifying degree that entitles you to certification

Meritorious:

• experience teaching at the upper secondary level
• good knowledge of subject-related English
