JOB DESCRIPTION
Would you like to work as a teaching assistant at a successful upper secondary school? Then you could be our new colleague!
You will be placed at Alléskolan's adapted upper secondary school where you, as a teaching assistant, are a key player in the student's everyday life. Your task is to support students in their learning, personal development, and preparation for adult life. You are the one who is there in the classroom, during breaks, at the lunch table, during internships or APL, and who builds the security that allows the student to dare to grow.
Together with teaching assistants, teachers, EHT, the home, and other actors, you support students in developing their abilities, which are important preparations for future employment. It is a balancing act between providing support and letting go, between being close and allowing space for independence.
Your assignment is based on the school's governing documents and values and requires both commitment, patience, structure, and flexibility. You will support students with different needs in various situations, such as in teaching, social contexts, or with care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individually tailored support to students in teaching and school situations
- Create structure, clarity, and predictability during the school day
- Strengthen students' independence and social skills
- Contribute to safety, study peace, and an inclusive climate
- Collaborate with teachers, student health teams, and guardians
- Support during APL/internships and, if necessary, perform care and self-care interventions
You will be part of a work team consisting of teachers and several teaching assistants where the focus is on the whole individual and their network. You work in a supportive and development-oriented manner.
If this sounds interesting, do not hesitate to apply for the position today!
QUALIFICATIONS
You have:
- A high school diploma, preferably with a focus on children and leisure.
- Experience working with youth with intellectual and other types of disabilities, preferably within adapted primary or upper secondary school.
Meritorious:
- Knowledge in areas such as AAC, as pictures and signs are part of how we communicate with our students.
- Education as a leisure pedagogue, nursing assistant, or other forms of teaching assistant or childcare education, for example, within adult education or folk high school.
- Experience working with individuals who have epilepsy and physical disabilities.
Personal qualities:
You are calm, structured, and flexible, with a solution-focused approach in everyday life. In your interactions with students, guardians, and colleagues, you contribute a positive, unpretentious, and professional attitude. You enjoy collaborating and see cooperation as a natural and crucial part of the assignment; we help each other and take joint responsibility for creating the best conditions for students' development and learning.
Great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
Selection and interviews will take place continuously, and references will be requested.
The position will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made.
We ask that you attach certificates that support your professional experience and your high school diploma.
